Nail Art time! :)

Hey Gals,
Been a while I have actually sat in peace to do some nailart. It’s such a happy feeling when you manage to sneak in some time for yourself.

Here’s the nailart I tried.  It’s inspired by Robin Moses (linked below her orginal nail art for your reference). Her original art is in neon,  however, I have tried it with the colors I already had.  And,  I love the outcome:)

Its pretty simple design. . Just follow the steps as shown in the video. You can play around with the colors you already have.

Movie Review : Jobs

STEVE JOBS.. the man who changed the world. ..the man who dared to think differently. . The man who made people want things that they never knew existed! And last but not the least. .in my opinion, the makeup artist or beautician or designer of technology.

This man knew how to beautify a product. .he had the knack of making his products stand out from the lot.

I was super excited when I heard that a movie was being made on The Steve Jobs! My expectations were sky rocketing. .but then. ..won’t they?  It’s Steve Jobs your taking about! 

Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs has done an outstanding job!  His looks, his smile,  those idea striking eyes & the walk of the legend. ..he got it all right!  It actually shows the amount of effort Ashton Kutcher has put in to play this role.  All other characters are also well played.

The background score in the movie is also nice. However,  i was left a bit disappointed. I thought the story was a bit weak. There were so many things that I would have loved to see in the movie. ..like Steve’s India visit. .what were his thoughts then. .his emotional turmoil when he got cancer.. how he turnaround Apple after coming onboard again… how he was a changed personality etc. The movie captures his arrogance, his passion for his work etc well but I felt something was missing.

Steve Jobs has given some outstanding speeches in the past. .they could have used those a bit more. The legendary video where his designed computer introduces its owner I.e Steve Jobs was also not used. ..I mean, I just felt a gap..I wanted to see more facets of Jobs.

Overall,  for Ashton’s performance I would give him 5/5. But, for movie per se, I would give it a 2.5-3/5.

Scarfs Styles!

Hope you had a lovely weekend:)

 

This post is about one of my favorite accessory/fashion statement – Scarfs! I just love wearing scarfs…i feel they just add that little bit of umph to your look. I love wearing them on formals…it absolutely changes the entire attire…makes you look so professional. I like wearing them on my denims as well..gives a very nice casual look.

 

I wanted to learn a few scarf wearing styles and found these on youtube. The best ones of the lot a listed below. There are so many different ways in which you can wear a scarf…its so fascinating! A small piece of cloth but goes a long way in changing your look:)

 

I think the style also depends on the texture of the scarf as well; whether its silk, crumpled, crush, cotton etc. You get scarfs in so many different shapes as well…some a square, long,  short etc for different styles.

 

There are a lot of scarf accessories also that you can use to add to your look. I think you can find them a lot over internet. I want to order some of them for myself but haven’t really had a chance to look into it.

I personally think this is a great initiative to encourage bloggers with less than 200 followers to perform better. • What is the one beauty product you cannot live without? –> One beauty product I cannot live without is Maybelline Eye Studio Drama Gel Eyeliner. I love eye makeup and wearing an eyeliner is an everyday ritual. It glides on like butter and stays all day long without smudging. I feel even if you don’t apply eye shadows and simply have a liner on…it still would make you well presentable. So, yeah, its my eyeliner I can’t live without.
• What was your favorite childhood movie? –> Home Alone
• If you were stranded on an island and could bring one item with you, what would it be? –> Some shells from the island as a memorabilia…reminding me the thrill of being stranded on an island for the rest of my life
• What is your favorite holiday and why? –> Our Honeymoon was my favourite holiday..we had been to Brussels, Greece, Koh Samui and Bangkok.l…sure I don’t need to explain the why 😉
• How old were you when you had your first kiss? –> 23 years

• When you buy something and your change is a penny, do you keep it? –> No. I generally give it to a pauper on the way home. I believe in doing one good deed a day…which can include anything from helping a blind cross the road, offering a seat to aged in train or giving some food/money to a pauper.
• What was the name of your first pet? –> sorry I don’t have any pet. I love Labrador dogs though, but my family is too scared of dogs so never landing up having one.
• What is something big and upcoming that you are excited for? –> I am planning for a vacation to USA this year..haven’t been to USA before…so really excited to see Manhattan…55^th Avenue, Empire State Building and of course, Las Vegas
• What’s your favorite season? –-> Rains is my favorite season. There is something about rains which calms me down and brings a smile on my face

Celebrating the spirit of India’s Independence Day!

Independence Day is a good time to ponder who we really are and where we come from.

Its a time to acknowledge the bravery of our freedom fighters and the sacrifices of  families whose, children are working in Army, Navy and Airforce.

Its a time to thank all those Jawans at the border because of whom, you & me have peaceful sleep at night.

And, Its time to decide where, we as a Nation aim to go and how we plan to get there. Let us all vow to take our country to great Heights of Prosperity, each by doing his/her tiny bit,  sincerely and truely.

Faces Eye Pencil Review

Hey Friends,

I am a fanatic of eye makeup and i just cant get enough! Its so difficult to not buy a new eyeshadow shade or liner!

I recently bought 2 new eye pencils from Faces in dark brown and dark green. I have not used this brand before so thought of doing a quick review on it.

Faces Eye Pencil in Dark Brown & Green

Pros:

• Very dark shades of brown and green. I like to use them outside my lower lash line to create more depth and intense look
• Affordable price – around 150 INR

Cons:

• Its not absolutely long wearing i would say….smudges a bit as the day progresses. It will fade a bit but will definitely showup on the face.
• Its in a pencil form. I am not a very big fan of pencils, i prefer the retractable ones.
• Its not very smooth to glide on specially if you want to use it as eyeliner on top.

I liked it but not loved it. It does the job of highlighting very well along with black liner. But if you use it all by itself, it might fall short of your expectations in terms of longevity…it will fade. That’s the only issue i can highlight. But then again, the price and colors are a thumbs up. If you want a cheap substitute to high end products and something that you might want to use once in a while….this will work.
