Here are the best Makeup looks from the 2016 Met Gala event. I have selected a few based on the stark difference in style and colour.
Most of these are subtle and easily wearable. They absolutely look gorgeous and are worth drawing inspiration from. From nude lips to bold ones and sleek hair, you have it all here!
One thing to notice among all pics below is the eye makeup! Very stylish and wearable. My personal favourite eye makeup is the smudgy eyes of SJP!! She nails it perfectly every single time! !
Which one is your favourite?
The most stylish event of the year – Met Gala !! Here are 4 trends that were noticed at the gala event.
1. Blood bold lips
Whether we like it or not. ..it’s the time for bold lips to rule the style industry and it’s definately here to stay
2. Metallic eyes
Well, Metallic. ..not everyone can carry it well, but those who are confident of carrying it. ..did a very good job at it
3. Liquid hair
Sleek wet hair look…this one is been around for quite sometime now. Not my personal favourite though
Braids!! I love how much you can do with braids. ..the hairstyles are endless and not to mention suits all age groups. Sophisticated and stylish at the same time!
Hope you enjoyed the trend alert. Will be back with who wore what at the Gala soon!
This is so cool! Definitely worth a try this summer:)
Kate Mara ‘s perfect eye makeup has been much appreciated at the recent red carpet events.
Here’s an excerpt from this month’s Glamour magazine. It shows how to learn Kate’s eye makeup from her Makeup Artist Coleen Campbell Olwell herself! !
Happy reading and happy learning:)
I am totally inspired by these new liner colors used by some models in the recent Fall Fashion Shows!
Not that it’s not done before….just that when you see it look good on someone, you feel inspired to try on yourself.
And afterall, some change to the old conventional black does’nt hurt : )
So, go experimental with your liner & for all you know …..you may be pleasantly surprised.
Here’s an easy diagram showing where what texure (light or dark) of eyeshadow needs to be applied. One of the simplest explanations I have come across.
I am a fanatic of eye makeup and i just cant get enough! Its so difficult to not buy a new eyeshadow shade or liner!
I recently bought 2 new eye pencils from Faces in dark brown and dark green. I have not used this brand before so thought of doing a quick review on it.
Faces Eye Pencil in Dark Brown & Green
- Very dark shades of brown and green. I like to use them outside my lower lash line to create more depth and intense look
- Affordable price – around 150 INR
- Its not absolutely long wearing i would say….smudges a bit as the day progresses. It will fade a bit but will definitely showup on the face.
- Its in a pencil form. I am not a very big fan of pencils, i prefer the retractable ones.
- Its not very smooth to glide on specially if you want to use it as eyeliner on top.
I liked it but not loved it. It does the job of highlighting very well along with black liner. But if you use it all by itself, it might fall short of your expectations in terms of longevity…it will fade. That’s the only issue i can highlight. But then again, the price and colors are a thumbs up. If you want a cheap substitute to high end products and something that you might want to use once in a while….this will work.
Hope you find this review helpful. Let me know if you do try this product or any other shades.
