Beach holiday at Goa – day 4

Good morning Lovelies,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend as much as I am.

We went exploring this morning in search of a virgin Beach in Goa. Had to travel quite a few kilometers but was worth it. The drive was super scenic and when we reached there…it just brought a smile on our face. The beach is called Ashwem Beach.

We then hailed back towards Baga and Callingut Beaches for some shopping!! all smiles!:):)

Goa is known for its cashews.. has the best quality. So if you ever visit Goa. .. you should grab a few to take back home for family and friends.

image

You get a lot of variety in cashews here. – plain cashews
– fried and salted –> my favorite
– roasted
– salt and pepper –> again very tasty
– red chilies
– sweet and sour flavor
And the list is endless. . But these are a few main ones.

Here’s a quick tip for all my friends out there who are fond of Indian curries…If you love Indian curries for their thick gravy in vegetables. ..here’s how to have that in your home cooked food as well:):) just grind a few plain cashews and add the paste to the curry…it enhances the flavour and thickness in the curry. Though I wouldnt suggest that for calorie conscious people 😉

Did some accessory shopping as well:) though didn’t get much since very few shops were open.. considering this is off peak season in Goa:( got very nice hair bun sticks

I am really fond of silver jewellery and manged to get the below 2 pendant sets from a Tibetian shop on Baga beach. Goa has these very good Tibetian jewellery shops in Condilum Beach but they were shut this time around:(

image

Finally we proceded for dinner to Grand Hyatt. One of the good hotels but very much in the interiors of Goa. Has good view of the beach. Since it was night, was not able to capture a lot of the hotel but a few art pieces and chandeliers caught my attention so sharing those with you.

So that was a hectic day! Phew..

Have a wonderful day ahead guys.. this is me signing off for now.

Beach holiday at Goa – day 3

Hey friends,

It’s weekend finally :):) I am sure everyone is in a good mood.

My third day in Goa was exciting and tiring at the same time. Have been a bit down due to dramatic weather changes. .. have caught cold:(

Today was dedicated to South Goa. It’s a good 40-50 minutes from Panjim. But the entire drive was absolutely scenic… good well maintained roads,  lush greenery on both sides of the road,  huge coconut trees, nice and breezy. .had a good drive.

We reached one of the famous beaches of South Goa – The Bogmalo Beach. Nice clean Beach.

image

Not much to shop around or something. .just a nice clean quite beach. Spent some time here and proceeded to another very famous Beach – the Colva beach.

Colva was a also a nice clean Beach. ..but had lot of people bathing and enjoying the waves.  How could I resist. ..folded my denim and went to enjoy the smooth cold water tickling my feet:) was lovely!

image

After enjoying the sea, we went on to savour corn! ! It’s a specially during the rains in India.  The corn is roasted and garnished with butter, lemon,  salt and red chilies. .. its yyuuuummmm!! Had the season’s first and best corn:):) happy happy:)

image

So that’s how the day went today. I havent had a chance to do any shopping here in Goa yet. ..hopefully tomorrow will be the lucky day; )

Have a rocking weekend. .it’s me signing off for now. ..catch ya later:)

Beach holiday at Goa – day 2

Hey Lovelies

As promised, here’s day 2 blog at Goa.

Day 2 started with waking up late and lazing around 😉 enjoying the feeling of being on a holiday during a working day.

Had a quick breakfast and ventured out to see the local areas in Panjim and its beaches.

Weather was absolutely sunny unlike yesterday. .which was good in a way but it was killing..I would rather have little bit of rains. .atleast it would be pleasant.

We went to Mira Mar Beach.. long stretch of sand ending into sea. . Was beautiful site but terribly hot… so didn’t land up getting out of the car

image

We then moved on to see Dona Paula Beach but  couldn’t get there as the road leading to the beach was dug up for maintenance.

So, headed back to the hotel..rested a while and got ready to go to Mariott. One of the best hotels in Goa.. having a breath taking view of the beach. We managed to reach just in time for sunset. .. and sat on the benches next to the infinity pool overseeing the sea. Amazing feeling of tranquility! Light wind blowing… soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore. .divine!

Wat was absolutely amazing was the shadow of this huge cloud in sea. .tried to capture it in second pic below

image

Spent a good hour and half sitting there. .enjoying the peaceful time and company 🙂

Would definitely want to go back again before I head back home. Just couldn’t get enough.

Had some nubblings at their lounge and came back to our hotel.

Looking forward to see South Goa tomorrow.  Shall bring you more updates then.

Till then,  signing off. ..have a wonderful day ahead:)

Beach holiday at Goa – day 1

Hey Loves,

Hope you guys had a good day. ..just 2 more days for weekend. . So hang in there. ..weekend is just round the corner 🙂

My awaited short vacation at Goa started with welcome greetings by the Rain God himself:)

Drive from the airport to the hotel was a good 40 minutes. It was beautiful. .lush green trees on both sides of the road. . Cold breeze kissing your face. ..paradise! below is the picture showing the rains proceeding towards us. .taken while we were in car.

image

Had a nice nap at the hotel and ventured back to see the beautiful beaches Goa is so famous for.

Our first spot was The Fort Aguada Lighthouse. The view was breath taking from the top of the Lighthouse.

image

image

image

image

After the Lighthouse, we proceeded to Condilum Beach. It was mind blowing. ..could hear the gushing sounds of high tide sea waves!! I could sit there for hours! Though I am terribly scared of water. .. but I love watching the sea. ..love the vastness of it. . The sound of waves crashing on the shore. .the small droplets of water splashing on your face. … standing by the shore wetting my feet..felt amazing! When the water recedes back from the shore..it feels as if it sweeps away all your worries with it along with the water.

image

image

image

image

After the serene Condilum Beach, we proceded to Calangute Beach. This Beach was totally crowded..lot of people….narrow lanes for local shopping. Didn’t spend much time here.

We quickly left to go to another happening Beach of Goa..Baga beach. Had lot of small shacks by the beach. .beautiful. Sit in anyone of these shack facing the Beach. .with a drink..a loved one by your side. . And life’s beautiful:)
We went to Brittos..a very famous shack.. known for its non-veg food and ambience.

And that’s how the day fled by:)

Will definately try to bring you more of Goa in coming days:)

Are you worried about your expensive smartphone getting spoiled due to rains?

Hey Guys,

Are you worried about your expensive smartphone getting spoiled due to rains? Well trust me, you are not alone. We spend a bomb these days on smartphones (most of them being touch screen phones) and they get spoilt…just like that…due to some rain water!

Last weekend, i bought a Jumper case for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I am pretty happy with it. You may say, it doesnt cover the screen so whats the big deal about it? But here’s the trick i use ….thought of sharing with you so that you can also safegaurd your smartphones from getting spoilt due to rains.
image

Though the jumper case doesnt cover the sceen, it helps get a better grip on the phone and helps avoid fall. During the rains, with wet hands, your phone might slip while taking it out of your pocket or purse. Another benefit of these jumpers are that their edge covers the touchscreen front properly, such that, when you invert your phone face down..the screen doesnt touch the surface! Moreover, these jumper cases are available in lot of colors and are not that expensive..they are hardly 2.5-3$. I have seen these jumper cases for most of the smartphones in the market…so go grab yours….stylish and safe 🙂

To safeguard my touch screen front and overall phone. i put my phone in a transparent case shown below.

image

These cases are readily available in any stationary shop. Most people use them as cases to keep pens, passports or passbooks.

The best part about this transparent cases is that you will still be able to use your touch screen phone – like messaging typing, answering calls and net surfing without actually removing the phone from the case!! isnt that awesome! i have answered calls and its perfectly brilliant…you can clearly hear the person. I just love it 🙂

So, go ahead and pick a case for your smartphone the next shop you see and protect them from getting spoilt.

Enjoy the rains:)

Manicure Monday!

Hey Lovelies,

Hope you had a great weekend. I had some nice me time this weekend. .Thanks to the pouring rains;)

Landed up doing a nailart design I wanted to do in a long time. So happy:)

image

It’s pretty simple. You can choose whichever colors you like. I love teal so choose dark teal and white. You just got to be a little patient. . That’s all it takes for this beautiful design.

Here’s a tip on how to go about doing the paws in the design.

image

Really simple. . The stripes are easy anyway. The best thing I like about this design is there are no specific shapes or boundaries. The stripes can be anyhow and so can the paws:)

So go for it ladies. .get some heads moving and feel good factor:)

Have a fantastic week ahead

Man of Steel – Movie review

Hey friends,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. . Weekends mean movies… the most awaited Superman movie #ManofSteel released this weekend.

image

I was super excited to be watching it today. But was a bit disappointed 😦

I would say I expected more. I thought Henry Cavill suited the bill perfectly as Superman. .. but was under utilized.

The first half of the movie was spent on the origin of Superman and shows the struggle Henry goes through as child growing up with his powers. Was pretty stretched I would say.

Second half of the movie is when you actually see him as Superman. However, I was missing the Superman in action. Though the second part has action scenes. . They felt more like video game action scenes to me. Didnt quite enjoy them. General Zod gets killed with a mere neck twist! They spent nearly half an hour breaking glass and buildings fighting and he dies with a neck twist!! That was disappointing.

So, overall I would rate the movie as 2.5 stars…but would definately want to see Henry Cavill in next Superman movie with a strong story showcasing the qualities he possesses.

Have fun guys. ..enjoy your weekend:)
